Fallen

Physically when we fall, we get up almost immediately. We play off that we fell to avoid embarrassment. Sometimes we even hurt ourselves but limp off as if we’re just fine. The similar happens when we fall spiritually except we don’t always get up immediately. We’re concerned about what others think. When the fall hurts, we get back up then pick up where we left off. I must admit, I’ve fallen often and sometimes purposely. I have done things I knew would make me stumble if not fall completely. I have concluded that it’s not that I fell, it’s the fact that I got up which makes me still His. It teaches me lessons that I would not have learned had I not fallen. It makes me desire His help. It never changes the love He has for me. He sent His Son to die on the cross because He knew I/we would fall. I also concluded that when we’re in the fallen state He wants us to run to Him and not from Him, which out of normality and our human nature, we run from things we’ve done to harm someone who loves us expecting a karma effect. Nevertheless, God is not like man and I am glad He isn’t. This is actually where His love for us is really revealed. God loves us when we are not lovable, when love is a one way street, in our darkest moments and when our actions contradict our love for Him … He love us still!

God is not seeking revenge. Nothing we do can detour the plans God has for us. We’re on an assignment that is incorruptible by anyone, anything or our actions. Romans 8:29 says,”For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”

Like a toddler attempting to walk for the first time, they fall often but eventually they learn to walk on their own. Overcoming some strongholds and/or spiritual battles may feel this way however we will eventually overcome. Remember it’s not what we go through; its how we come out. In conjunction, it’s not that we fall; it’s that we didn’t stay down. Getting back up again is important because I know that what’s ahead of us is far greater than our present struggles!

Romans 8:38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,# Greek nor rulers. neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord
